The Springfield Writers Group has been meeting regularly since 1985 to encourage and assist local writers with publishing their work. Our meetings involve constructive critiques - anyone can read a short unpublished piece (fiction or non-fiction) at a meeting and receive comments from the group to improve the quality. This is optional--no one has to bring material. We also provide advice on how to publish their work. There is no membership fee, although members are encouraged to join Washington Independent Writers. For a story on our group in the WIW November 2003 newsletter, click here and go to page 6. Meetings will be held in inclement weather as long as the library is open.
